Changed light fitting downstairs, now no lights working in living room.. Turn off the power at the consumer unit make sure it is off and turn off all the light switches on that circuit, then connect the three red or brown wires together, make sure the three black or blue wires are separated and turn on the power, using a tester on the three. From now on, you no longer have to be specific with what lights you want to control. Instead, you can just say “Alexa, turn the lights on”. Of course, you can still be specific if you need to. Like, if you wanted to turn on the living room lights while you were in your bedroom, you can still say “Alexa, turn the living room lights on”.
10 Rules to Create the Perfect White Kitchen Home
In my living room I have two Phillips Hue bulbs (Table Lamp 1 & Table Lamp 2) and a TP Link smart plug (Reading Lamp). I have added all three into a group called Living Room lights. If I tell Google Assistant to turn on the Living room lights only one Hue bulb (Table Lamp 1) and the lamp plugged into the TP Link plug come on.
Living room lights wont turn on. I can no longer use my living room lights as each time I turn them on they flicker. No other lights on the same loop have this problem; just the ceiling light in the living room. I replace the light fixture, which didn't do the trick. I checked the wiring at each switch (2-way dimmer switches) and everything thing seems to be ok. If I say "turn the lights off in the living room" or "turn the living room lights off" it's hit or miss, but if i say "turn off the lights in the living room" it works more consistently.. I see the ZigBee Net in the X-CTU Network working mode but the Echo won't find the device and I can't connect to the Net. If you have color-changing lights, this will set the saturation of the lights in the Living Room (if possible) to 65 percent. (You can also use this command for a specific light name, too.) "Set the Office lights to blue."
I have been using Alexa for a long time without issue. After having a connectivity issue with 1 light switch and deleting/readding in Smartthings, Alexa will not turn it off/on. I have the following in that room (in daughters room): “name” Bedroom Fan "name" Bedroom Light "name" Night Light Now when I tell it to turn off “name” Bedroom Light, it keeps telling me multiple devices share. So I went to the living room, “Alexa, turn on living room,” and sure as $#!^ the lights came on. Not sure why all of a sudden she couldn’t recognize “lights” or “living room lights” but could only recognize “living room.” Again, we haven’t made any changes since last weekend and it’s worked all the same up until today.. Last night the light in my living room was just fine... Today, I went to the light switch and - nothing. I went to the other switch - still nothing. I changed the bulbs. STILL NOTHING! What is going on here? I am renting so I know that I could just call the landlord and blah blah blah... but I am moving in two days. I would like to NOT give them a reason to withhold money from my deposit.
I have LED lights in most of my home, but lately those in the hallway and bathroom behave weird: mostly in the morning when I wake up and try to turn the lights on in the hallway they don't work. When i try it in the bathroom the light also doesn't turn on but the bulb shines very faintly. A living room without the right lighting just won't feel complete. It may not even be a space where you enjoy spending time, no matter how much you love your furniture or the space itself. Excellent living room lighting is also key for creating a space where guests feel comfortable, sociable and relaxed.Shop Wayfair to find the right living. The lights still work correctly if I rename the room to something like "Family Room" instead, and all my other room groups seem to work right as well, as does "turn on the lights in here" regardless of what the room is called. "Switch off the living room lights" also plays the video instead of turning off the lights.
I removed a ceiling fan with two sets of lights. The lights were controlled by a dimmer switch. Coming from the ceiling are a set of white wires, black wires, and a single red wire. I attached the new light fixture as follows. White to white, black to black, and just capped the red wire off. The light turns on but won't turn off. It was suggested that I change out the dimmer switch to a. Ive had this issue, it happens if the group name is the same name as an item in that group, for example, I have a group called living room, I also had my lights called living room lights, everytime I said "Alexa, turn of the living room lights" she would turn everything on or off. (Tip: There's a better-than-90% chance you won't have to go past item 4.) 1. Plug or wall switch. Not to suggest that you're a dim bulb (pun intended), but have you made sure the fixture is plugged in and/or the switch is on? 2. Circuit breaker. Is anything else in the room failing to turn on?
Let us explain this question in more depth. Say you’re watching TV in your living room with a few lamps on, but after an hour you have to go cook dinner and take a shower. While you cook dinner and take a shower, will you turn the lights off in the living room where you […] We have 3 bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor. Today, I had bathroom light and bedroom 1 light on. When I tried to turn on light in bedroom two, there was a flash and my 'first floor lights' fuse tripped. I pushed it back on and the bathroom light came back on but none of the 3 bedrooms. I tried to change bulbs but the lights don't work. Hi Elisha, Since you have breakers, you won't have fuses. You need to go to the breaker box, switch the breaker for that room off and then turn it back on. You should hear and feel a distinct click when it turns back on. If that doesn't work then, most likely, you have a bad breaker and you need an electrician to handle that. Good Luck.
If a light switch won't turn off, it could be because it's miswired or just a bad switch. You can test the switch with a voltage tester to determine which is the problem. If the switch is bad, you should replace it because you can't fix it. If the switch is miswired, it's easy to rewire. The interior lights are all turned off and the option to turn them on is grayed out. The only available option is to turn them off, which they already are. > I tried saving and coming back, I tried replacing the lot with a new home, I moved the family out and then back in, but nothing is working.
